Practice with Inverses

Objectives: -Find points on an inverse function given points on the original function. -Find the equation for the inverse function of f. -Practice with the conventions for typing equations and functions in Desmos. This activity can be used either as an introduction or a review of inverse functions. If using this activity as part of the introduction to inverse functions, model screens 1 and 2 with students. Students can show their algebraic steps on paper. Inverses of parabolas and square root functions are covered in the last two screens, so that students won’t have to consider a restricted domain until the end of the activity. You can use these considerations to help with the summary of this concept at the end of the activity. Note: type "nthroot" to input a cube root function.
