Slicing Arrays
Students learning multiplication facts benefit from making sense of those facts through representations such as arrays. Larger arrays can be intimidating but through tasks like this, students begin to look at the whole array as a sum of smaller arrays or partial products. This all connects nicely to the usefulness of the distributive property in multiplication computation.
