Where is the vertex?

In this activity, students learn and practice a non-standard technique for finding the vertex of a parabola, which leads to a simpler-than-average technique for writing quadratic equations in vertex form. This activity is intended for an Algebra 2, Precalculus, or Honors Algebra 1 class. These ideas are adapted from a Comments and Contributions letter by David Pagni in Mathematics Teacher, March 2016.
