WNBA Scoring Averages

In this activity, students make predictions about the number of points per game the top pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft will score in her rookie season, based on the number of points per game she scored in her NCAA senior season. After making an initial prediction, students use a graph to make a more accurate prediction. Later, students use an algebraic model to make what we hope will be an even more accurate calculation. Along the way, they'll consider the "story" told by the graph, regression equation, and (in a bonus challenge at the end) its residuals.
