Area of Circles

Students explore areas of circles. This activity begins with students estimating the areas visually, to the derivation of the circle formula, and finally allowing some practice for students. There is a good opportunity to talk about approximate and exact forms of the area. This activity assumes students have some experience with circumference of circles.
