Practical Trigonometry Problem Solving

Armed with a clinometer and a tape measure, students are required to solve a series of trigonometry problems. What separates this activity from other trigonometry problems is that measurements aren't just laid out for students to plug into a formula, and so problems have an extra layer of choice. Text booky problems become non-text booky, and the extra layer of choice can sometimes put your understanding to the test! The later questions will require students to make careful choices about what measurements they take, and look for right angle triangles in practical scenarios. If you liked this activity and found it useful, I would love to hear about it on twitter! @KenClarkson3 Due to distance learning this activity has been updated to include self marking!
