Derivatives and Slope

In this activity, students will discover the graphical relationship between a function and its derivative by observing slopes of tangent lines and sketching patterns made by the change in the function's slope. Students should have an understanding of tangent lines and the limit definition for slope, but no formal understanding of a derivative. This lesson was one of the winners of our Activity Builder Spotlight contest in 2024!
