Laser Challenge CHS

In this activity, students use angles to adjust lasers and mirrors as they seek to hit all three targets in a series of challenges. This activity is designed for students to use their knowledge of the basic trigonometric functions (and their inverses) to calculate the angles needed instead of just guessing. They can put complicated expressions into the input cells that will do the calculations. An example is given in a later screen. The one glitch is that Desmos does calculations in radians, so a brief reminder of how to change from radian measure to degree measure might be helpful. This activity may take more than one class period. We recommend having students log in so that they can continue their work at a later time.
