Ice Cream

In this activity, students are introduced to the Voronoi diagram and are invited to explore its properties. Students begin by choosing the closest ice cream cart for many locations in a park. Then, they shade regions to show the closest ice cream cart for EVERY location in the park. Through these informal exercises, students come to learn that such diagrams are called Voronoi diagrams.
