Properties of Angles in a Circle
Students will learn some new vocabulary (inscribed and central angles). They will also learn that the measure of the central angle is equal to twice the measure of the inscribed angle subtended by the same arc and that inscribed angles subtended by the same arc are congruent. Students will then solve problems using these circle properties. Nova Scotia Mathematics 9 Outcome M01 - Students will be expected to solve problems and justify their solution strategy, using the following two circle properties: - the measure of the central angle is equal to twice the measure of the inscribed angle subtended by the same arc - the inscribed angles subtended by the same arc are congruent.
