Psychology experiment data collection

This activity gets students to look at the young woman/old lady illusion and asks them to enter in the age they think she is. Students can then explain the distribution of ages given and why this might end up being a bi-modal distribution (some people see an old woman and some see a young women). This task will work better the more data you have so you may want to ask your colleagues to complete it first or give it to more than one group. If this is not possible, we have included some data we collected from other people and this will show if there are fewer than 2 students who have entered the age of the woman. We recommend that you pace the activity and initially restrict it to the first slide to gather all the data and then allow students to move on.
