Nothing But Nets
Students are introduced to the names of polyhedra and practice identifying polyhedra from their nets. They also cut out and fold nets to create polyhedra and calculate their surface areas. This lesson builds on the work students did in Part 1 of this unit calculating the areas of triangles and their work in Lesson 9 with surface area. The grids and physical folding in this lesson are intended to support students in calculating surface areas without a grid in Lesson 12.
