Pile of Polygons

Students apply what they have learned about calculating the areas of parallelograms and triangles to a new category of shapes: polygons. Note: This lesson contains an optional first activity called Polygraph, a game in which students describe polygons using informal language. This will supports students in defining the characteristics of polygons later in the lesson.
