A Series of Sorts: Goofy Green Graphs

Introduce the concept of function through a series of activities involving graphs that are functions and non-functions. Students sort the graphs according to their OWN criteria, and then are presented with a novel way of sorting to try and make sense of, in order to understand the concept of a function in relation to graphs. Subsequent graphs are also classified as function or non-function. Finally, students are given the opportunity to create their own function and non-function graphs.
