5-1 Forms of Functions
In this activity, students will be presented with problems to work on in teams on vertical, non-permanent surfaces. The first activity Get Real, Be Rational thin-slices problem sets involving perfect squares, radicals, fractions, rationalizing denominators over the complex numbers, and factoring special patterns to simplifying rational expressions, The second activity has students describe key features of function and solve for the intercepts for linear, absolute value, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, polynomial, radical and rational functions in different forms. They will insert pictures of their board work on each slide and use the last 10 minutes of each period to summarize what they learned on the day's problem set.
