What groove do you hear? Part I
In this lesson, students have an opportunity to develop an intuitive understanding of fractions by thinking about them as musical notes in the context of music production. Students make drum beats, and listen to drum beats and recreate them. This process gives them a chance to become familiar with the idea of dividing fractions into smaller groups of equivalent divisions, and to think of 'the beat' as a fractional unit that be divided.
