What groove do you hear? Part II

In this lesson, students use their ears to gain an intuitive understanding of fractions and musical rhythm. By recreating rhythms that they hear with fraction bars, they can start to ground their understanding of fractions in beat-based music. Being encouraged to divide and rearrange fractions to make interesting music will provide an intuitive basis for working symbolically with fraction multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction.
