Introduction to Rhythm: Eighth Notes and Triplets

This lesson explores musical rhythm, and how to think about 'the beat' and the 'bar' as organizing principles. Students will clap along with different patterns that divide the beat in various ways. This provides a low-stakes onramp to thinking about fractions of time, and will complement any previous understanding of fractions, fraction division, common multiples, rates, ratios of durations, and ratios of rates.
