Introduction to Rhythm: Sixteenth Notes

This lesson explores musical rhythm and the relationship between 1/4, 1/8, and 1/16th notes. Students will clap along with different patterns, and learn how to count them in a way that uses 'the beat' as an organizing principle. This provides a low-stakes onramp to thinking about fractions of time, and will complement any previous understanding of fractions, fraction division, common multiples, rates, ratios of durations, and ratios of rates.
