Math

This warm up and quick routine takes about 5-10 minutes and can be used in or outside of a Math block. It is designed to be flexibly implemented in your day! Today's Goals • Apply properties of operations through addition and subtraction. • Understand the equal sign and determine if equations with addition and subtraction are true or false. • Language Goal: Explain why an equation is true or false. (Speaking and Listening) Prep Checklist • Click Present to show this activity to the class or a small group. • Click and drag the dice and then click Roll. • Drag the dice and operation symbols (equal sign, plus sign, and minus sign) to demonstrate creating equations. If a 1, 2, and 3 were rolled, you could create 1 +2 =3 or 3 – 2 = 1. • Have students help create other equations using the dice and math symbols.
