This warm up and quick routine takes about 5-10 minutes and can be used in or outside of a Math block. It in designed to be flexibly implemented in your day! Today's Goals • Add numbers rolled on dice using strategies based on composition and decomposition of numbers. • Language Goal: Explain how they added the numbers shown on the dice. (Speaking and Listening) Prep Checklist • Decide whether to begin with the 2-dice, 4-dice, or 6-dice option of the activity. • Click Present to show this activity to the class or a small group. • Roll the dice. Ask students to find the sum. • Move to the next screen. Roll the hidden dice. Flash them for 2 seconds. Ask students to find the sum. Repeat the flash if needed. Invite sharing of strategies. • Show the dice. Hide the dice to repeat the activity.
