Grade 2 Unit 5: Papy's Computer

Papy's Computer derives its name from the prominent Belgian mathematician, Georges Papy, who invented and introduced it in the 1950's. The computer combines a representation of number as an abacus with the flavor of a computer in its schematic representation of numbers. This representation combines decimal notation with binary positional rules, and takes advantage of the well established base-10 system and a simple, yet technologically desirable base-2 system.
