Learning goals: Assessment Purpose This assessment is an opportunity for students to show what they know before they begin this year. You’ll learn about your students’ foundational concepts and skills to help you support, strengthen, and stretch your students’ understanding throughout the year. Facilitation Guidelines We recommend students complete the mCLASS onboarding activity before they start this assessment to learn how to enter answers digitally.  During the assessment, students can use paper and pencil to support their thinking and can use headphones to hear the screens read aloud. Note: They must enter a response on a screen before they can move onto the next screen.  After the assessment, review student responses in the Teacher Dashboard to understand your students’ thinking.
