Area Rhythms

In this activity, students play with the relationship between area and time. Students will complete a set of rhythmic challenges where they have to recreate rhythms with chunks of area of different sizes. The ratios between the areas underlies why they create different rhythms when turned into sound/time. Students end with a chance to make their own area-based drum beat!
