Learning goals: Unit Summary Students are introduced to eight new sounds, including a spelling alternative for /k/. Through oral language games, chaining exercises, and shared reading, students practice blending these new sounds to form words. They also review previously learned letter-sound correspondences. A Student Performance Assessment is provided to determine students’ progress with basic code and CVC words.
