Unit Summary This unit focuses on learning various spellings, with an emphasis on vowel sounds. Students read one- and two-syllable words, as well as contractions. They practice reading and spelling a number of high-frequency Tricky Words. Students also learn about the use of quotation marks, and they begin to receive instruction in the writing process as they craft narrative and opinion pieces.
