Writing: Draft a Narrative Book Report

Primary Focus of Lesson Writing • Students will use a planning template to write a draft book report about “The Hare and the Hedgehog,” specifying the title, characters, setting, and plot of the story. Reading • Students will read “The Pancake, Part I” with purpose and understanding; will close read the story by answering text-dependent questions, identifying Tier 2 vocabulary, and discussing challenging portions of the text; and will write three or four sentences explaining how they can tell the story is fiction.
