Today’s Goals • Create a claim that the distances objects are from each other can change the potential energy in the system. • Support the claim that objects interacting in a system exert force and energy that can be transferred between objects with or without contact. • Language Goal: Students will discuss in groups to create their scientific claim. (Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing) Duration • This Bite Sized Science Moment takes about 15–20 minutes and can be used in or outside of a Science block. It is designed to be flexibly implemented in your day! Standards • Next Generation Science Standards: MS-PS3-2, PS3.A, PS3.C, SEP-2, CCC-4 • Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills: RTC-7.5B See At a Glance for Materials, Prep Checklist, and Lesson Preview.
