Grades: 8th Grade

Subject: Math

Learning goals: Sub-Unit 1: Organizing Numerical Data (Lessons 1–3) • Compare different ways to organize numerical data with two variables, including scatter plots. • Compare and contrast various data representations. Sub-Unit 2: Analyzing Numerical Data (Lessons 4–9 + Practice Day + Quiz) • Use scatter plots and linear models to identify associations and make predictions. • Interpret and describe features of data presented in a scatter plot. Sub-Unit 3: Categorical Data (Lessons 10–11 + Practice Day) • Use two-way tables and bar graphs to identify associations in categorical data. • Analyze data presented in two-way tables and bar graphs.
