Switching Beginning Consonant Sounds: Level 2 (CVCC)

In this activity, kindergarten students practice phonemic awareness by switching the initial consonant in CVCC (consonant-vowel-consonant-consonant) to form new words. This exercise can be used flexibly throughout the day–from small groups to morning routines–to help students understand sound manipulation, enhancing their reading and decoding skills. Make sure your students have played Level 1 first! You can now assign this activity to students or click on the screens below to teach with your class or small group.
