CL Day 2021
Thank you for participating in this year's CL day. We've collected the links shared (and their original posts) here for you to put to use.
New CL Feature - table resetOnChange
You: Specify a string value Table: Resets itself when that string changes https://twitter.com/mrchowmath/status/1399365054848405510?s=20

Tip 1️⃣ : Use images in your graphs
It’s ironic that our first tip involves no CL, but it will save you time to focus on other parts of your interaction. Use a square & adjust its dimensions Check “Hide this folder from students” Uncheck “Place behind graphs” https://twitter.com/MrJohnRowe/status/1399380157484343300?s=20
One Minute to Draw
How well can you draw something in 60 seconds? Challenge inspired by @natebyr0n Want to change drawing options? Open the CL window for the graph. https://twitter.com/mrchowmath/status/1399395248099500036?s=20

3d Tic Tac Toe
I've heard this game is also called Qubic Have your students take a break, pair up on a computer 2-1, and play some 3D tic tac toe https://twitter.com/mrchowmath/status/1399425442495537154?s=20

Tip 2️⃣ : Use variables
Variables make reading and modifying your CL more reliable and efficient. 👉🏻 Use variables for components (in = input, g = graph) 👉🏻 Use camelCase to make it easier to read. 👉🏻 Keep your variables at the top of the window. https://twitter.com/MrJohnRowe/status/1399440544980377606
Enter the matrix.
Did you know you can do row operations using the activity builder? https://twitter.com/MrJohnRowe/status/1399455645305380865

Tip 3️⃣ : Use multiple cursors
CTRL-click to type in multiple places or hold down ALT to select lines vertically. 👉🏻 Align your CL nicely, especially in tables. 👉🏻 Doing CTRL-click a lot? Use a variable instead. 👉🏻 If you copy 10 lines, select 10 locations to paste. https://twitter.com/MrJohnRowe/status/1399470741045661696
#MatchMyCL
This month, we’re kicking it old school with an actual Match My CL challenge. 🤔 What CL drives these three screens? 💡 Can you recreate it without peeping? Let us know how you go and share out your attempt using #MatchMyCL https://twitter.com/MrJohnRowe/status/1399485847255322628

Tip 4️⃣ : Use error messages
An error message can block responses you don't want and let the students know what to do. 👉🏻 Use a variable for the error condition. 👉🏻 Use the warning sink to show it on the dashboard. 👉🏻 Set a valid condition and use "error = not(valid)" https://twitter.com/MrJohnRowe/status/1399500939933880321
Rotate Sketches About the y-Axis
Step 1: Sketch something on the left Step 2: Click and drag around the graph on the right. https://twitter.com/mrchowmath/status/1399516044084011008
- sketch rotation
Tip 5️⃣ : Use simpleFunction
simpleFunction allows you to perform a calculation without having to repetitively type out the LaTex. 👉 Write your function in the calculator and paste it into the CL 👉 Name it to use it as a variable 👉 Create functions to round numbers https://twitter.com/MrJohnRowe/status/1399531143486005249 Looking for examples to go with these tips?👇🏻
