#MatchMyCL April 2020
What is something you know now that you didn't a month ago?
Kathy Newell-Wilson
I’m easily 400% better at this than I used to be, yet still only a fraction of how good I would like to become. Learning CL is definitely the silver lining to being quarantined. My favorite rather easy thing is the use of subtitles and submit counts (buttonpress or whatever applies)that keep track of the number of attempts students need to get a correct answer. I feel it makes them take their time and think more deeply to keep their counts low.

How to make self-checking multiple choice Q’s (with feedback) and self checking card sorts. Also, the notion that there should be a reflection component at the end of the task for students to share what they learned and to ask questions about what they don’t.

So much!! thanks to the Desmos social communities!! Copy/paste screens, CL basics, self-checking multiple choice, submission count, end-of-activity score tally, embed a video, algebra tile calculator ...the list goes on!! Thank you, Desmos Educators
@mgsanchezbruin
I now know how to check for correctness & graphing equations of circles.

@BirkelandMr
One blessing from this whole crazy experience is I've learned so much about what Desmos can do! (and there's so much I'm still playing with...) My favorite things to use are motion and self-checking. I can show them right away if they're correct rather than just tell them! I was really worried about having to teach quadratics virtually, but with these tools (and some pre-made Desmos activities [which I also just learned you can edit!]) it's been going well!
- Changing coefficients (Parabolas) and Summary
@MrRCartwright
I learned a ton about using Capture/History of random coordinates when I made this activity
- Random Darts
@kbook10
I’ve learned so much this month & look forward to learning more. Check out my original slides dabbling in CL - ways to give feedback & self-checking sketches! Thanks again all you Desmos CL’ers that continue to share your activities!

Knew nothing a month ago. Thanks to all the help and great activities being produced I feel like I've learned a lot - but only about 1% of what is possible! Happy with this self-checking activity today, content hidden until answers are ✅

@MConstructed
Self check blows my mind and every time I get a little better at making the feedback help learning
- Proof: Area of a Trapezoid
@joemathteacher
I didn't know how to take Ss input and put it into graphs. Found these and and will use the lock in a #breakoutmath activity. Also figured out how to make the ferris wheel into one screen with user input. Thanks!
- Locked In (with fixes)
@beatonknowsmath
I've learned so much & realized how much more I want to learn! Thanks to @Desmos and everyone @ cl.desmos.com I was able to make an old ws into an engaging & self-checking practice!
- Area Between Two Curves Practice
@CoachLoriM
I can create tables for students to enter exact answers (rational and irrational numbers) and receive immediate feedback. I love the starter screens and creating a key at the end of an activity to quickly check. I’m excited to learn more!!
@kdailyclark
The bright side of virtual teaching: I've had time to sharpen my @Desmos skills. Here's an activity I created from scratch with help from the discussion board:
- Equations of Circles: Part 2
@nhighstein
Passionate @Desmos user since 2010. It was invaluable helping me relearn math after 15 year hiatus,and ABs give us wonderful tools to support great pedagogy. B4 6weeks ago, had made some customs, never used CL. Look now!Super proud+sharing tons.
