  Students make sense of fractions as numbers using physical representations and diagrams. Your class will help a beaver chop through logs of wood to deepen their understanding of fraction strips and number lines, and learn to explain how fractions with different denominators can be represented on the same number line.  These lessons are designed to be taught alone or in sequence.   Students represent and compare decimals to the hundredths by reasoning about their size. Your class will explore base ten blocks and learn to use decimal notation. They'll compare equivalent fractions, mixed numbers, and decimals to build their own robots! These lessons are designed to be taught alone or in sequence. • Multiplicative Comparison and Measurement

  Students understand multiplication as a way to compare quantities and convert measurements. They'll represent and identify multiplicative comparison situations using statements, diagrams, drawings, and equations. Your class will demonstrate an understanding of multiplicative comparison by describing the differences between quantities of stickers, towers of cubes, and other patterns and groups!

  Students understand how to multiply multi-digit whole numbers using partial products and quotient strategies. They'll explore Hawaiian flowers and lei as way to conceptualize strategies for multiplying a whole number up to 4 digits by a one-digit whole number and 2 two-digit numbers. These lessons are designed to be taught alone or in sequence.
