• Skills Lessons

  Students will revisit key spelling concepts, focusing on separated digraphs, vowel teams, and alternative sound/spellings. Consonant sound review encompasses the hard and soft sounds of ‘c’ and ‘g,’ and words ending in /v/ and /j/, such as love and ridge. These lessons introduce multiple-letter spellings for vowel sounds, including digraphs, trigraphs, and quadgraphs.  Students will identify, read, and spell one-syllable, two-syllable, and multisyllable words, with an emphasis on vowel-consonant-e (VCe) and vowel team syllables, in which two or more letters produce a single vowel sound.
