Phonics Activities
Engage young learners with engaging activities that build phonics skills and language development. Students learn about letters and sounds, read and match CVC and VCV words with images and practice changing initial and final CVC letters. These activities are ideal for whole class activities, transitions, circle time, or small group interventions!

Letter Recognition
Students practice identifying letters. In 'What's the Letter?', letters from across the alphabet are randomized. In subsequent activities, the activities are focused on a progression of letters as they're taught in the Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum. New lessons added in March 2026.

Skills Lessons
Students are introduced to eight letter sounds and will provide the corresponding sound when presented with the following lowercase letters: ‘m’, ‘t’, ‘d’, ‘c’, ‘g’, ‘i’, ‘a’, ‘o’. Through oral language games, chaining exercises, and shared reading, students practice blending these sounds to form words. They also review previously learned letter-sound correspondences.

Underdogs and Heroes: Stories
Meet clever tricksters, brave adventurers, and unlikely heroes from around the world. Through read-alouds and discussions, students explore classic and cultural tales like “The Three Little Pigs” and “The Bremen Town Musicians.” They practice sequencing, identify story elements, and connect stories across texts.
